Karan Johar who always comes out with a unique idea and keeps on experimenting with the young stars of Bollywood is coming up with a new project ‘Shamshera’. In the movie, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in a different avatar. He is playing the role of a Dacoit. After playing as ‘Sanjay Dutt’ in the movie ‘Sanju’, Ranbir will be sharing the screen with Sanjay Dutt himself in this movie and is paired with Vaani Kapoor.
The first look of the movie is out and Ranbir can be seen carrying an axe and a quiver of arrows in the picture. In an interview, the director Karan Malhotra said, “Shamshera is a highly ferocious and fearless character in the film. Therefore, his nemesis had to be even more fierce and monumental in every aspect. Who’s better than Sanjay Sir to give us that impact on screen.”

Currently, Ranbir is busy in shooting for film ‘Brahmastra’ directed by Ayan Mukerji. Talking about his role in Shamshera Ranbir said that it is exactly the film he was looking for. Karan is going to take him completely out of his comfort zone and Ranbir is looking forward to this challenge. Ranbir also said- “While growing up watching Hindi commercial cinema, I had an image of what a film hero should be doing. Shamshera allows me to do everything that I had imagined and it’s a very exciting project for me.”
Sanjay Dutt is working in a ‘Yash Raj Film’ for the very first time. He said it’s an emotional moment for him as Karan and Sanjay’s father were close friends. Sanjay Dutt is playing as main Villain and Vaani Kapoor is the main lead actress in ‘Shamshera’ who was last seen in the movie Befikre with Ranveer Singh.
