Netflix is telecasting a new series titled Lust Stories in which four successful directors of Bollywood direct a series each for an episode length. The first episode which was directed by Karan Johar was telecasted last week and has raised many eyebrows for its content. The series is of four short stories and the one that is directed by KJo stars Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani.
A scene in which Kiara has been noticed masturbating has become really controversial these days. Very recently the scene from Veere Di wedding where Swara Bhaskar was seen masturbating created a huge controversy and now Karan Johar and Kiara are the new ones to fall in trouble for the exact same reason.
The buzz is that the family of Lata Mangeshkar has expressed a problem with the scene. The said scene shows that Kiara’s character’s vibrator gets activated and the Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham song which is sung by Lata Mangeshkar plays in the backdrop.
KJo gets slammed for using Lataji’s song wrongly
While many KJo fans applauded Karan Johar for the scene, few of them criticized him for using such a legendary singer’s song for a dirty scene. One of the family members of Lataji quoted as saying,“We wonder why he needed to use a Bhajan-like song sung in the most revered voice of Asia to show his heroine in an orgasmic state. He could have used any other song.”He further said the family is also upset because Lata Ji was not informed about it before.
He further added,“At her age we don’t want to expose her to this kind of ugly desecration of her song. Why did Karan Johar use Lata Didi’s immortal song in such an embarrassing situation? I still remember how ecstatic Karan was when Didi had recorded the song for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He said it was a dream come true. Why turn the dream song into a nightmare now?”
We have to wait and see how this issue turns out and how KJo reacts to it. Lust stories is an anthology of four stories that sheds light on modern relationships from the viewpoint of the Indian woman. The directors of the four short stories are Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyup, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee. The show is being bank rolled by Ronnie Screwvala. The series features many actors like Manisha Koirala, Sanjay Kapoor, Radhika Apte, Bhumi Pednekar, Neha Duphia among others.
