1. The Inverted Waterfall

What comes to your mind on hearing the word ‘waterfalls’? Well, yes, a beautiful place with water rushing down from mountains or some other height amid the forests. Yes, you’re right. But the waterfall we’re talking about is just as it sounds- inverted.

This waterfall, located in the Republic of Chile, flows in the opposite direction i.e. upwards. Yes, it is as amusing as it sounds and the sight is magical. However, physics have a reasonable explanation for this. The thing which forces the water to flow upward is the strong gust of wind. However, this water is not the only one of this kind. The same sort of waterfalls can be seen in India and Australia.

2. The Mystery of Santa Cruz

This mysterious place in Santa Cruz was first discovered by George Pruzon in 1939. While explaining his first experience, he said he was walking during the day when he suddenly started to feel dizzy. His compass too was acting crazy. He was amazed by the thing that happened and bought a piece of land there. He built a house where he invited people to see the mysterious happenings and the miracle of that house.


The miracle of this place is that people can bend their body to any direction and can adjust to any angle without falling. It’s like the gravity doesn’t work here. Water flow upwards, in the opposite direction here. It is explained by some people that this abnormality is caused due to the magnetic crater situated under the house.

3. Armenian Mounts Aragats

This mountain is located in West Armenia, 30 kilometers apart from the border with Turkey. Everything happening on this mountain is the opposite of what you can expect on the other mountains.

It is witnessed that cars stopped at the foot of the mountain move upwards with their engines off. The streams flow upwards and it is said that climbing the mountain is easier than going downhill because the gravitational pull is nowhere to be found.

4. Magnetic Hill, Leh Ladakh, India

This magnetic field is located near Leh in Ladakh. The entire area is giving the impression of a road that is going upward, however, it is actually going down or not. The cars parked at the foot of the hill magically move upwards. However, people think its either because of ghosts or is some optical illusion.

Well be it ghosts or optical illusions, this place deserves to be visited.

5. Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam is one of the main tourist attractions in the eastern US. The dam is a gigantic construction but is not famous for that. The size of the dam is totally irrelevant when compared to the mysterious gravitational pull of the place.

There is an experiment that can be done at the dam and will pop your eyes out! Bring a bottle with yourself and after you’re standing on top of the constructed area, pour some water down. Surprisingly, instead of going down, the water goes up. And the experiment isn’t just limited to water, according to the scientists, anything you throw down there will go upwards only. It is because the construction of this dam is such that the flow of air becomes way too strong. The flow of air upwards through the edges pushes everything upwards, overcoming gravity.
