1. Afghanistan

Afghanistan is a pretty dangerous place to live if you’re a women. Over 87% of the women in Afghanistan don’t know how to read. Men don’t allow them to read, to keep them from learning and becoming superior. Girls in this country are forced to get married between the tender age of 15-19 years old. Each year thousands of domestic assault cases in the country’s court system go nowhere. Finally out of every 1000 women in the country, 400 of them are murdered when they are pregnant. It is one of the most unsafe countries for women.

2. The Democratic Republic Of Congo


Women are greatly discriminated in Congo. According to the American Journal of Public Health, around 1150 women are sexually harassed in Congo every year. Women in Congo are victims of rape, domestic assault, this is possible because there are no laws in Congo that prevent these things from happening. There are plenty of groups, community who are trying to make things better for the women who live there.

3. India


India is a very dangerous place to live especially if you’re a woman. Children are often forced to marry older men. Rape and human trafficking crimes are very common in India. India is a very dangerous place for the female babies to be born. Many families want boys so if a girl child is born then they resort to female feticide. According to a recent study, in the past 30 years, around 15 million cases of female feticide have been reported in India.

Somalia is known for its piracy, but it’s also known for its horrendous treatment of the women who lived there. It is an African country where law and order don’t exist. Over 95% of the female population experience the genital abuse between the age of 5-11. Women are sexually abused and many women are murdered when they are pregnant. Child marriage is also common in Somalia.

According to a recent report, Colombia has the highest gender based violence crime in the world. Domestic violence is very common in this country. There are often Acid attacks on the women which scar them forever. There are some communities, group in Colombia which offer help to the women who experienced the physical and emotional trauma. Unfortunately the men who are responsible for theses attacks are never forced to pay the price. They are never held responsible for their actions.

6. Egypt


The Egyptian government offers no rights at all to the women. They are deprived of their rights of marriage, divorce, inheritance, and child custody. Domestic violence and sexual harassment are very common for the women in Egypt. The judicial system does nothing about it. In the eyes of the law, a women doesn’t have the right to justice.

Mexico may be just across the border of United States. But things are really dangerous there for the women. It is a very popular tourist destination for the visitors on spring break. Women living in Mexico are not treated really well. Sexual abuse and domestic violence are very common in Mexico. And the legal system does very little about it. Very few women come forward because if they do, the legal system will treat them with disrespect, doubt, and indifference.
